You may know that Tipmont REMC is governed by a board of seven member-elected directors. But were you aware of their commitment to continuing education that helps them best serve you?
The National Rural Electric Cooperative Association’s (NRECA) Director Education Program helps board members uphold the importance of education among Tipmont’s seven cooperative principles.
All seven Tipmont REMC board members are accredited by the NRECA as Credentialed Cooperative Directors (CCDs).
As certified by learning assessments, all Tipmont board members hold comprehensive awareness and skills in director duties, electric business, board operations, and processes, strategic planning, and financial decision-making. This unanimous CCD designation means that the entirety of Tipmont’s board is prepared for every aspect of cooperative leadership.
A majority of Tipmont REMC board members have also achieved Director Gold status, the highest director credential available from NRECA.
Director Gold status reflects a cycle of courses, forums and seminars through which your Tipmont REMC directors learn about infrastructure and innovations to help move Tipmont forward now and for generations to come. Director Gold designation is also not a one-and-done achievement; directors must earn new credits every two years to maintain Director Gold status.
We applaud and appreciate the accomplishments of our Tipmont board members, who advance their knowledge in ways that benefit all of us!
